Join our healing circle as master drummer Dan Bailey teaches traditional West African polyrhythms, chants and djembe techniques for getting proper tones and protecting your hands while tuning into the healing qualities of ancient rhythms. Godson and protege of Grammy Award winning cultural ambassador Baba Olatunji, Bailey has been teaching African drum workshops for over 20 years. Using Olatunji’s method of vocalizing rhythms, drumming becomes accessible to all. No experience necessary and advanced percussionists welcome. Please bring a djembe, hand drum or other percussion instrument.
